Space
The question, what space now actually exists, has through the information technologies arrived at a need for explanation. I speak from actual experience.

For example, there is a considerable gradient difference between the center and the province, which I, as a resident thereof have a manifold experience with. By addressing the question of distribution it appears that this situation can not be altered. Apparently one needs to initiate the facts from the perimeter, from within the province so as to gain notice among the politicians, administrators and the traditional media and consequently initiate structural consequences.

The vanished gallery creates a bridge between the "traditional heart of the county" Graz and eastern Styria - which in "an ancient sense" is a terrain that defines the periphery and province of Graz. kunstraum.gleisdorf makes use of a new interpretation of these relationships as a theme, in which the motive of the "industrial moderne" center, which implements resources from the countryside, is suspended. Mutual exchanges within the competitive localities should be encouraged to introduce a different type of quality.

kunstraum.gleisdorf was conceptualized as a "room in the web" that has a relationship to a real area (Gleisdorf). In kunstraum.gleisdorf the intersection of analog and binary is addressed. This hybrid place for artistic interests has a generalized basis. Media workshops, discussions, transfer of "know-how", references to platforms and cultural initiatives.

The virtual portal to kunstraum.gleisdorf, the "relay station" that connects all the components, the main chamber (the actual binary art room), as well as other "rooms" which lead out are- tied to context- placed into the different websites / servers. The relay station not only directs to the web, but also towards real life rooms (offline areas/ irl = in real life).
